I have lost count of the number of times I have watched Full House. Tonight, I am watching it again. What made me laugh this time especially? It is the scene where Min Hyuk was invited over for dinner by Young Jae to show him that Ji Eun belongs to him. Ji Eun is supposed to feign vomiting in front of Min Hyuk whenever Young Jae nudges her with a kick. Young Jae still refuses to admit that he is in love with Ji Eun but does his best to prevent Ji Eun from getting any closer to Min Hyuk...men! Women! There's the problem with communication. They are cute together. As Raphael put it today: Song Hye Kyo belongs to him. Well, he can have her while I don't mind laying my hands on Rain! My apologies to Ohnie...

About 2 weeks ago, I took a walk to my DVD supplier’s stall at the Shaw Boulevard MRT station looking for something new to watch. When I looked at the DVD cover of Three Dads and One Mom, it was not attractive enough at first for me to watch unfamiliar Korean actors who were not that good-looking and an actress I thought could not compare to Yoon Eun Hye. It was also only a copy of the old Hollywood movie 3 Men And A Baby starring Ted Danson, Steve Guttenberg, and Tom Selleck; assuming that a Korean remake would just kill the story. Well, the American movie isn’t even an original but it is the one that I remember from my Singaporean childhood; a remake of the 1985 hit French comedy "Trois Hommes et un Couffin”.

Three Dads and One Mom may not have been a hit with other drama addicts but it
certainly made me laugh and cry to the end. Of course, the drama has a slightly different scenario. In the American movie, Mary’s mother leaves her at the home of 3 wealthy bachelors who were former lovers. In the Korean drama, you witness 3 men struggling to take care their dead bestfriend’s wife and child whom anyone of them could have fathered through IVF without the widow’s initial knowledge. Exaggerated acting aside, I find entertaining to see 3 men lose their minds literally over a pregnant woman who should not even be their responsibility but they end up losing their hearts to the woman and her child. This is a very rare situation in traditional and even current Korean society but against everyone else’s opinions, they compromise and again “sacrifice” some of their individual comforts to make room for love.
